I currently work as a cinematographer, director of photography (DOP/DP), and colorist based in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, shooting commercials, music videos, and narrative films across Vietnam and abroad.

My path into filmmaking began in Finland in 2020 and continued through my training at the Academy of Moving People & Images, where I learned under some of the country’s finest directors, producers, DPs, and fellow filmmakers. After my education and several years working in the Finnish, EU-standardized film industry — including short films, a TV series, and a feature film — I returned to Vietnam in late 2024. Since then, I’ve been actively working as a cinematographer on a wide range of projects within Vietnam’s fast-growing commercial and film landscape.

My creative philosophy revolves around creating the right imagery instead of simply beautiful imagery. I focus on visuals that strengthen the story, support the tone, and elevate the final piece without drawing attention to themselves. The audience should resonate with the work as a whole — not because of or for the cinematography alone.

On a personal level, I’m calm, approachable, and deeply believe that “the end product is only ever as good as the people behind it.” Clarity, professionalism, and decency shape how I collaborate on set and how I approach every project.

When not working as a DP, I’m a guitarist, a pianist, and a part-time YouTuber sharing filmmaking insights with the Vietnamese creative community.
